# Pallyy Alt Text

Pallyy lets you add alt text to scheduled social media posts while you create them, so images publish with descriptions for screen readers and platforms.

Last updated: 2026-07-23.

## What it does

- Attaches an alt text field to each image in the post editor, so describing images is part of scheduling.
- Publishes alt text automatically with the image on every supported platform.
- Supported platforms: Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and Pinterest.
- On Instagram, alt text applies to images and carousels. On Facebook, to all image posts except carousels.
- Where a platform does not support alt text, the field does not appear in the editor.
- A free alt text generator drafts a description from your image that you can edit and paste in.
- Alt text is included on every Pallyy plan, free plan included.

## How it works

- Attach the image to a post in the editor, from your device or the media library.
- Click the text button on the image and fill in the alternate text field.
- The alt text publishes with the image on every supported platform automatically.

## Common questions

- What is alt text on social media: A written description attached to an image that screen readers speak aloud and platforms use to understand the image, never shown visually on the post.
- Which platforms can Pallyy set alt text on: Instagram (images and carousels), Facebook (image posts except carousels), X, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.
- Does alt text affect reach: It is primarily for accessibility, though platforms read it to understand image content, so treat any reach benefit as a bonus.
- Can Pallyy write alt text for me: Yes, the free alt text generator drafts a description from your image that you can edit before pasting into the field.
