Based in Orange County, California, Restorative Roots crafts meals designed to nourish mothers during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond, drawing on practices like Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda and Weston A. Price.
During her first pregnancy, founder Holly Stein prepared thoroughly for the birth but mostly ignored postpartum. She ate what she thought was healthy, including cold smoothies and salads, then splurged on less nourishing food from friends and family. It left her constipated and feeling "blah" most of the time.
Holly later discovered The First Forty Days by Heng Ou and learned that new mothers should eat warm, soft, cooked, easy-to-digest foods. When she became pregnant with Blaire, she put that learning into practice and froze 60 meals based on Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, and Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon and Mary Enig, Ph.D.
“Every meal left me feeling nourished, safe, and like I was being wrapped in a warm hug.”

Her easier recovery inspired her to cook for friends. Their feedback showed Holly how many families were missing this kind of support.
The business began in Holly's home kitchen in 2021 as Mama Meals. Now Restorative Roots, it ships organic, gluten-free meals across the United States using thoughtfully sourced ingredients, including organic produce and pasture-raised and regenerative meats.

We caught up with Holly to learn how Pallyy helps the team keep social media organized as the business grows.
Social media that educates and connects
Social media helps Restorative Roots educate its audience and connect with new customers. Instagram is its most important platform, with Pinterest also playing a significant role in the brand's strategy.

Before Pallyy: a last-minute workflow
Before Pallyy, the workflow was fairly last-minute. Moving between apps made it difficult to see what was scheduled and what still needed to be created.
With a growing business and three children, Holly needed a simpler system that someone else could confidently own.
Bringing social media in-house
Restorative Roots first encountered Pallyy through the social media agency managing its content. The team eventually felt ready to bring social media back in-house so they could be more involved in the day-to-day management of their channels. Pallyy was already familiar, worked well for their needs, and made continuing with the same platform an easy decision.
Today, their in-house social media manager takes care of content planning and publishing. Holly trusts them to run the process independently, and can easily jump in to Pallyy to check what is coming up whenever she needs to.
“Pallyy lets our social media manager work independently while still giving me complete visibility.”
A clearer, more organized workflow
The social media calendar gives Holly a complete view of what has been planned and what will be published across each platform. If plans change, posts can be moved around easily. She can also leave comments or edit captions directly without taking over the whole process.
That balance gives the social media manager autonomy while Holly retains oversight. Folders add another layer of organization, keeping campaigns, giveaways, and recurring content types together instead of scattering assets and ideas across different tools.
“I love being able to jump in, see what’s planned and make a comment without having to manage the whole process myself.”

Making evergreen content go further
Restorative Roots produces plenty of evergreen educational content, so successful ideas can be reused over time. The team can duplicate and adapt posts across channels without rebuilding them from scratch, which is particularly useful for TikTok, where content often begins on Instagram or another platform.
One place to manage social media
Instead of logging into several platforms, the team can organize, schedule, review, and analyze content in one place. Pallyy brings every channel together, making it easy to plan, reuse, and publish content across every platform without jumping between separate apps.
“It makes staying consistent across Instagram, Pinterest and our other platforms much easier.”
For Holly, it's essentially a one-stop shop for managing the brand's social media.
