Add alt text to your scheduled posts
Describe your images while you schedule, so every post is readable by screen readers and understandable to the platforms. No extra step on publish day.
What screen readers speak, and what platforms read, when the image can't be seen.
Accessibility that fits inside your scheduling flow
Alt text is a written description attached to an image. Screen readers speak it aloud for people with visual impairments, and platforms read it to understand what an image shows. It never appears on the post itself, which is exactly why it gets forgotten when publishing is a rush.
Pallyy attaches the alt text field to each image in the post editor, so describing your images becomes part of scheduling rather than an afterthought. Stuck on the wording? The free alt text generator drafts a description from your image that you can edit and paste in.
Written once, published with the post
Alt text lives on each image in the post editor.
Add your image
Attach the image to a post in the editor, from your device or the media library.
Write the alt text
Click the text button on the image and fill in the alternate text field.
Schedule and forget
The alt text publishes with the image on every supported platform, automatically.
Works everywhere the platforms allow it
Some social networks support alt text and some don't. Pallyy adds it everywhere it's supported, and simply hides the field where it isn't, so there's nothing to remember per platform.

On Instagram, alt text applies to images and carousels. On Facebook, to all image posts except carousels.
How to write alt text people appreciate
Good alt text is written for a listener. A few habits cover almost every post.
Describe what matters. Focus on the subject and context someone needs to understand the post, not every detail in frame.
Keep it to a sentence or two. Long alt text is exhausting to listen to. One good sentence beats a paragraph.
Include text that appears in the image. Words inside your graphic are invisible to screen readers unless the alt text carries them.
Skip "image of". Screen readers already announce it as an image, so jump straight to the description.
Write for people, not keywords. Hashtags and keyword lists in alt text hurt the listening experience and help nothing.
Questions, answered
What is alt text on social media?
Alt text is a written description attached to an image that screen readers speak aloud for people with visual impairments. Platforms also use it to understand what an image shows. It never appears visually on the post itself.
Which platforms can Pallyy set alt text on?
Instagram (images and carousels), Facebook (image posts except carousels), X, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. Where a platform doesn't support alt text, the field doesn't appear in the editor.
Does alt text affect reach?
Alt text is primarily for accessibility, but platforms read it to understand image content, which can help posts surface in relevant contexts. Treat any reach benefit as a bonus, not the goal.
Can Pallyy write alt text for me?
Yes. Pallyy's free alt text generator drafts a description from your image, which you can edit and paste into the alt text field while scheduling.
Make every post accessible from day one
Alt text is included on every Pallyy plan, free plan included. Write it once while scheduling and never think about it again.
