Engagement Rate

Engagement rate measures engagement compared with audience size, reach, or impressions.

Common formulas divide total engagements by followers, reach, or impressions, then multiply by 100.

Engagement rate is useful because it gives context. A smaller account with highly active followers may have a stronger rate than a much larger account.

Engagement rate is most useful when compared across similar content types, time periods, or audience segments, because formats and platforms can create very different baselines.
