Ratioed

Being ratioed means a reply or quote of a post earns more engagement than the post itself, signalling the audience disagrees with the original.

The term comes from X (Twitter), where a reply with more likes than the post it answers is read as the crowd siding against the author. "Ratio" comments serve the same role on TikTok.

For brands, getting ratioed is a signal to slow down: it usually means a take misread the room. It is worth understanding the sentiment behind the ratio before responding or deleting.
